GONE ARE THE DAYS OF FACIAL TRACKING HELMETS AND TEAMS OF ANIMATORS - OUR DEEP LEARNING NEURAL NETWORKS ANALYZE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF IMAGES AND GENERATE NEW ORIGINAL VERSIONS OF THESE IMAGES THAT MATCH THE POSE, EXPRESSION, LIGHTING, AND MOVEMENT OF THE DESIRED END RESULT.

BLADE RUNNER 2049 MAY BE ONE OF THE FINEST EXAMPLES OF CGI DE-AGING IN A HOLLYWOOD PRODUCTION. THOUGH THIS SEQUENCE IS SEVERAL YEARS OLD, THE EXECUTION AND FINAL OUTPUT HAS NOT BEEN SURPASSED.

THE TEAM BEHIND GEMINI MAN WAS ASKED TO CHANGE THE ENDING OF THE FILM 3 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE PREMIER. THIS WAS ESPECIALLY DIFFICULT BECAUSE THE CHARACTER OF “YOUNG WILL” NEEDED TO BE SHOWN IN THE BROAD DAYLIGHT. WHILE THE EFFORTS WERE GREAT, THE FINAL PRODUCT WAS LESS THAN. THIS SCENE ALONE REQUIRED AROUND 100 MEMBERS, COST THEM CLOSE TO $25M, AND THAT ENDING SHOT EFFECTIVELY FELL FLAT.
WE HAVE RECREATED THIS SHOT, WITH ONE ARTIST IN ONE WEEK.
STUNT DOUBLES ARE COMMONLY USED BY HOLLYWOOD IN LIEU OF COSTLY DIGITAL EDITING IN ORDER TO PORTRAY A CHARACTER'S’ LIKENESS. THIS PROCESS HOWEVER, ENTAILS MASKING THE BODY DOUBLE’S FACE.
GANIMATION ENABLES FILM MAKERS TO NO LONGER REQUIRES FILMMAKERS TO HIDE THESE FACES, OPENING UP VAST POSSIBILITIES FOR PREVIOUSLY COST-PROHIBITIVE SHOTS AND ACTION PACKED SCENES.
AFTER 200K WORTH OF DIGITAL CAMERAS, A HIGHLY PAID TEAM OF CG ARTISTS, SEVERAL MONTHS IN POST PRODUCTION AND A HEFTY PRODUCTION BUDGET THE IRISHMAN DE-AGING MAKES THE ACTORS LOOK YOUNGER, BUT NOT NECESSARILY LIKE THEIR YOUNGER SELVES.
WITH GANIMATION WE WERE ABLE TO ACHIEVE A RESULT THAT LOOKS CLOSER TO THEIR YOUNGER SELVES, WITH ONE ARTIST IN ONE WEEK.
DE-AGING IS EASIER THEN EVER, THE FOLLOWING CLIP [ FROM BLADE RUNNER 2049] WAS DYNAMICALLY DE-AGED IN 3 DAYS BY 1 ARTIST WITH A CLICK OF A BUTTON, WE WERE ABLE TO DEAGE HARRISON FORD BY 75%.
DEAGING
CURRENT STATE OF THE ART TECHNIQUES REQUIRE EXPENSIVE FACIAL TRACKING EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE TO ACHIEVE REALISTIC FACIAL ANIMATION.
NO LONGER DO YOU NEED COMPLICATED RIGS AND MULTI-CAMERA SETUPS TO ACHIEVE FACIAL ANIMATION. [ALIZA'S] PROPRIETARY TECHNOLOGY ALLOWS YOU TO DO ALL OF THIS WITH NO SPECIAL EQUIPMENT OR SETUP. JUST SHOOT AS YOU NORMALLY WOULD, AND LET [ALIZA'S] DEEP LEARNING AI DO THE REST.
